Hello. My name is Millie.
It is no secret at Tankar Self Storage Centre that we love our pets. Our pet family includes four cats named Teekay, Maou Maou, Monte and Ning, plus three dogs named Millie, Milan and River. Millie and Teekay greet self storage customers at our office each day with a happy bark or friendly meow.
DONATION DRIVE
We recently reached out to Golden Oldies Animal Rescue to see if we could help support their cause and raise awareness for all the incredible work their team of volunteers do for elderly animals in foster care. Rebekah, the daughter of the rescues founder Gina Fallon, replied ‘we are in desperate need of donations and support’ which was all we needed to take action. In the days following we organised a week long donation drive to secure pet essentials. We assigned a small self storage unit at our Lot 10 Priestley Street, Mittagong location and reached out to the pet loving community of the Southern Highlands via social media to help reach our goal to fill a storage garage with donations.
PET SUPPLIES
During the week of 9th-13th November donations of dog and cat collars, leashes, pet beds, blankets, towels, grooming tools, travel crates and food were received. The generous support from local residents was overwhelming. The donations were packed onto shelves custom built to store everything neat and organised into storage. The rescue also received monetary donations online which go towards paying for veterinary bills at the local vet Highlands Veterinary Hospital who help service the needs of the senior animals in the rescue network.

Golden Oldies Animal Rescue rely solely on donations from individuals and businesses to keep their rescue viable. They are dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of old souls. Their primary focus is on elderly and frail animals at high risk of being killed in pounds, simply because they didn’t have safe places to call home.
